I have held off on this topic for a while, partly because of work, but also to stop myself talking myself into trouble!!
Harry Kewell, for those who don't know, is an Australian footballer who has recently signed for Turkish team Galatassary. Big deal, you say, but yes, big deal it is.
Harry Kewell was a spotty kid when he was signed by Leeds United, who nurtured his obvious talent and turned him into a great footballer, who graced every football pitch with skill and determination, and played his heart out for Leeds United every week. He was a member of the Leeds team that challenged for honours, both at home and in Europe.
In April 2000, Kewell was a member of the Leeds United squad that travelled to istanbul to play Turkish team Galatassary in a European semi final. In the evening the day before the match, trouble broke out in the bars around town, and two Leeds fans, with no history of any violence at football, were tragically stabbed and killed by Turkish fans. Both were family men.
the shadow that this event cast upon the club was immense, Leeds asked for the game to be postponed in memory of the 2 men, but the Turks said no, and UEFA decided the game should go on. A bit like Heysel, the Leeds team were visibly shaken by the events, and played out the game with little interest. They were all gutted by what had happened, as press conferences afterwards showed, and since then, trouble has flared between English and Turkish fans whenever they have met.
The taste that it left in the mouth of the club and its fans was rank, and the club have marked the anniversary of the tragedy since then.
Forward wind to 2008. harry Kewell is now at Liverpool, and played a very tiny part in their European success due to injuries (but still picking up his tens of thousands of pounds per week salary). His contract is up for renewal, and Liverpool choose not to renew it, figuring it is not good business sense.
So Harry Kewell is, for want of a better word, unemployed. So who does he sign for................???
The dirty lowlife piece of shit has no conscience or respect for the people who lost their lives supporting the club and financing the club that in 2000 were paying his considerable wages. He has no sense of self respect or any sense of humility, instead choosing to go where the most money was on offer (yes, I know what you're thinking, but the guy is a millionaire many times over, and could have chosen another club for 10,000 a week less and still retired a very wealthy man). What an utter cunt.
As I said, I could go on for ages about what a greedy self centred disrespectful piece of shit he is, and do in every day conversation, but will have to tread carefully here. But, here is his website, feel free to let him know what an utter cunt he is via the message board..........

Knife Crime
Good to see Labour getting tough on knife crime.............
Take the thug who carries a knife to see someone in hospital who is a victim of knife crime, and also their family, and then to prison to talk to those arrested for knife crime.........
Seriously, if anyone in their right mind thinks that this is gonna suddenly stop youngsters carrying knives and stabbing other people then they are seriously misguided. What planet is this government living on? Cos it aint no planet that I have ever visited.
The only way to stop this knife culture is to throw the book at them. Send them down for a minimum of 5 years with no early release irrespective of their age, and what's more, throw them in an adult prison. As the saying goes, lie with the dogs.........
I despair over and over and over again every time a government minister opens their mouth with a new initiative or a new policy. They are so far removed from what the average man on the street is saying and thinking it's untrue. And it makes me despair. I was an adolescent during the 80s, during the Thatcher years, and I know what it's like to live under Tory rule, but the way things are going, it's inevitable that they will win the next election. And, despite the memories of how it was, it would be preferable to the idiots in power now. Which says so much more than these words.
As I have said in other posts, vote these fuckers out at the earliest opportunity.
